Kay Parker - one of my favorites from ‘The Golden Age’
If you were watching porn anytime from the late 60’s to mid 70,s, then you were witnessing the porn movie industry during its ‘Golden Age’. During this time porn started to hit the mainstream and get embedded into the public consciousness with movies like ‘Deep Throat‘, ‘The Devil in Miss Jones‘ and the ‘Johnny Wadd‘ series. At this time, it was not unheard of to see theaters take out full page adds in local publications just to promote the latest porn releases.
It the latter part of this ‘Golden Age’ that Kay Parker starred in what would be the first of many movies to come for her. She is most famous for her role as a really sexy mother in the ‘Taboo‘ series, where her character is left by her husband and she engages in an incestuous relationship with her son. This series put her on the porn industry map forever. It is because of her work in the ‘Taboo‘ series that she is now often referred to as ‘the original MILF’.
Today everybody in the industry knows who she is, even if they have never seen much of her work.
When she first started porn, she was older than most of her peers on the set. But her natural beauty, sophistication and sensual poise on camera made her one of the most sought after talents of the time.
It was in the mid 80s that Key retired from the porn industry and we were all sad to see her go. She sited the lowering of production quality and the rise of health risks as major factors in her decision. This was at the time that AIDS started to reach epidemic levels and porn movies started to get produced with lower budgets on video.
Last night I treated myself to a trip down memory lane via a DVD I have had for a while now. ‘Kay Parker Vol .2‘. In my opinion it is a really nice romp through Kays career. It is two hours of some of her best work that features some nice solo masturbation, oral, BG and GG hardcore.
If you are interested in seeing a really good example of some ‘Classic/Vintage’ porn, this DVD is one to seek.
The only negative thing I can say about this DVD is that in some of the scenes the video quality is not the greatest. Remember, these scenes were originally shot on 35 MM ( no high DEF here ), then later transfered to video to eventually put onto DVD. So given the number of transfers, some shots the quality is not the best. In an odd way, I always thought that it added to the authentic, almost historical feel of this DVD representing the ‘Golden Age’.
